ABOUT

The AIS Infrastructure Group consists of four civil/vertical construction companies. Our services include infrastructure improvement, heavy civil construction, vertical construction, site development for government and state agencies and private enterprise across the United States.

GENERAL POSITION SUMMARY

The Health & Safety Director will provide experience and expertise in the implementation, execution, supervision, planning and management of the Safety Program and Environmental Protection Program. The Health & Safety Director is to ensure all OSHA, federal, state, local and project specifications are met to keep an accident-free work environment on every project for all workers, subcontractors, and non-construction personnel. This position plays a crucial role in supporting the successful execution of projects by implementing and enforcing safety standards and protocols set by AIS Infrastructure.

MAJOR DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop safety business plan identifying specific goals, objectives and budget required to maintain and improve the company safety programs and performance.

  • Ensure regulatory compliance across all Corporate, Operations and Construction sites across the organization.

  • Lead the organization in EHS risk management and promote EHS stewardship at all levels

  • Build and lead a cross- functional team of Safety professionals to support the Corporate Safety Program.

  • Effectively manages EHS programs that drive incident prevention and predictive behaviors.

  • Monitor individual projects from implementation of all safety protocols and polices, risk management strategies, and on-site requirements personally and through assigned on-site Safety professionals.

  • Conduct and review audits of Safety programs and implement recommendations to ensure compliance with internal procedures as well as applicable regulations.

  • Establishes accident prevention and control strategies for each work location- recommend procedural, design, and operational improvements to minimize/avoid potential hazards,

  • Train Field Supervisors and Operators on OSHA regulations. Ensure that Field Supervisors are prepared and trained for OSHA inspections/visits to project sites.

  • Collaborate with project managers and supervisors to ensure safety measures are integrated into project plans and activities.

  • Ensure all accidents and near misses are investigated, causes identified, preventive measures initiated, and these investigations are disseminated throughout the company within 24 hours.

  • Maintain accurate records of safety inspections, training sessions, incidents, and safety-related communications.

  • Stay up to date with industry best practices and regulatory changes related to safety in construction and industrial services.

  • Collaborate with regulatory agencies, clients, and stakeholders to ensure compliance with safety requirements and maintain positive relationships.

EDUCATION, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

  • Ten or more years of direct EHS executive leadership in an organization with multiple sites across the U.S.

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or relevant professional experience.

  • Experience managing remote staff, and third party hired firms

  • Background in Civil Construction or similar industry required.

  • In depth technical knowledge of construction related OSHA, federal, state, and local regulatory standards, and ability to recognize hazardous situations and implement effective corrective practices.

  • Working knowledge of OSHA/EM-385 rules and regulations required.

  • Ability to influence and educate on EHS principles

  • Analytical, data quality troubleshooting and critical thinking skills

PREFERRED CERTIFICATIONS

  • Certified Safety Professional

  • OSHA 10, OSHA 30, OSHA 500

  • CPR

TRAVEL

Ability to travel up 25%-35% of the time, travel frequency will vary based on job needs.
