Job Description

The Chattanooga plant is a leading global supplier of catalysts and other products and services to petroleum refiners; catalysts for the manufacture of plastics; silica-based engineered and specialty materials for a wide-range of industrial applications; specialty chemicals, additives and materials for commercial and residential construction; and, sealants and coatings for food packaging. We are currently accepting resumes for a Warehouse position.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare products for shipment by labeling, stenciling, and weighing

  • Uses forklift, hand trucks, etc. to move in and out or to relocate materials in warehouse

  • Uses stencils, tags, labels, stencil inks, scales, blenders, drums, liners, and other packaging

  • labeling equipment to prepare items for shipment, as directed, on shipping orders

  • Storing in proper order all incoming material from production and shipments as received

  • Obtain samples of materials as required

  • Maintaining good housekeeping in work area.

  • Repetitively move containers of material on and off pallets, conveyors, and material handling

  • containers vary in size and height from 5-gal. pails at 40 lbs. to 55-gal. drums at 400 lbs.

  • Work in confined spaces, such as shipping containers

  • Operate electrical and pneumatic tools such as impact wrenches and drum openers

  • Read bills of lading and packaging specifications to ensure proper materials are being shipped

  • Perform custodial services plant-wide and operate laundry equipment

  • Work inside where temperatures exceed 100° f. or outside where temperatures are sub-freezing during winter months

Physical Requirements and Environment

  • Ability to work in a high hazard environment, including adverse weather conditions, elevated spaces, confined spaces, extreme temperatures, and noisy surroundings.

  • Must be able to stand, walk, sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, and climb stairs and ladders over 100 ft.

  • Must be willing to wear PPE (Personal Protective equipment) including but not limited to hard hat, protective eyewear, steel-toed boots, hearing protection, Level A suit, full face respirator

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma (or GED) required

Preferred Qualifications

  • 2-years experience in handling shipping paperwork in a similar industry

  • Good interpersonal skills and team player

  • Demonstrate strong verbal skills and the ability to communicate clearly with internal and external customers (truck drivers)
