Robert Half Benefits Specialist--Hybrid in Chattanooga, Tennessee

Description

We are partnering with a growing nationwide organization to place a Benefits Specialist into a full-time opportunity. This role will be working in a dynamic sector within the construction industry and will be instrumental in administratively and strategically managing employee benefits programs within the organization.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Administer various employee benefits programs, such as group health, flexible benefits plan, life insurance, sick leave, leave absence, retirement, wellness benefits and more.

  • Conduct benefits orientations and explain benefits self-enrollment system.

  • Maintain employee benefits filing systems and ensure benefits changes are entered appropriately in payroll system.

  • Assist in negotiating with benefit vendors for best plans, options and rates.

  • Serve as the primary contact for plan vendors and third-party administrators.

  • Coordinate daily benefits processing: enrollments, COBRA, terminations, changes, beneficiaries, disability, accident and death claims, rollovers, withdrawals, loans and more.

  • Assist employees with health, dental, life and other related benefit claims.

  • Ensure compliance with applicable government regulations. Ensure timeliness and accuracy of required reporting and fees.

  • Coordinate company benefits with government-sponsored programs.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.

  • Prior experience in a HR Benefits role (ideally 2-3 years).

  • Solid knowledge of all pertinent federal and state regulations, filing and compliance requirements, both adopted and pending, affecting employee benefit programs.

  • Proficient in all Microsoft Office applications.

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.

  • Outstanding communication, organizational skills and attention-to-detail.

The ideal candidate should be highly organized with excellent attention to detail, and possess outstanding communication skills. This role requires a strategic thinking individual with a hands-on approach and the ability to work within and navigate a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Requirements • Minimum of 3 years experience in the role of a Benefits Specialist or similar position within the construction/contractor industry.

• Proficient in Benefit Functions, Cobra Administration, and Benefits Administration.

• Possesses excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

• Demonstrates a strong understanding of industry standards and best practices related to benefits administration.

• Proven ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines simultaneously.

• Demonstrates a high level of attention to detail and accuracy.

• Possesses strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make sound decisions.

• Experience with relevant software and technology for benefits administration.

• Demonstrates a strong commitment to maintaining confidentiality and handling sensitive information with discretion.

• Ability to work effectively as a part of a team as well as independently.

• Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred.
