Times Fiber Communications Plant Controller in Chatham, Virginia

The Plant Controller is a strategic business partner assisting the Plant Manager to help drive the performance of the business. The Plant Controller is responsible for the oversight of the general accounting functions and to ensure compliance measures are in place. The Plant Controller partners with corporate accounting and finance to ensure all controls and deadlines are met. The position manages two direct reports.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and issue annual and monthly operation budget.
  • Estimate, forecast, analyze, compare, and interpret variation in operation financial results.
  • Provide financial data and analysis related to all manufacturing appropriation.
  • requests including financial evaluation follow-up.
  • Maintain Capital Equipment Inventory.
  • Direct annual physical inventory activities and maintain monthly inventory records.
  • Oversee accounting functions.
  • Meet cost improvement objectives.
  • Obtain good labor productivity, maintain accurate records, and keep extra work due to errors to a minimum.
  • Analyze administrative needs and plan manpower, facilities, and floor space accordingly.

Qualifications and Skills requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance.
  • Minimum of four to six years of professional work experience in accounting or finance functions, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
  • Superior analytical and financial modeling capabilities with an emphasis on cost accounting in a manufacturing environment.
  • Proficient with ERP processes and data
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and leadership skills, with a proven ability to manage staff and develop talent.
