We invite you to join the high-energy team at Chatham Bars Inn, a Forbes Travel Guide Five Star Hotel on Cape Cod, Massachusetts with 25 oceanfront acres, 217 rooms & suites, five restaurants, boating, a private beach, full-service spa, 8-acre farm & endless recreation activities. Open year round, the Inn is a five-minute stroll from Chatham?s charming Main Street & within a short drive of all Cape Cod has to offer. The role of the Front Desk Agent is to provide the utmost in guest service while ensuring that the check in & check out process for guests is handled efficiently & professionally. The Front Desk Agent is responsible for but not limited to managing keys, recording & executing wake-up call information, providing directions, assisting in all guest inquiries, & adhering & practicing the Forbes Travel Guide, Preferred Hotels & Resorts, & AAA. Additional responsibilities include: Provide quotes for room rates & up-sell the guest when possible. Assist in coordinating the Front Desk & the Housekeeping Department. Verify that the correct charges are posted to the corresponding guest folio. Collect payment for charges on the guest folio. Ensure all cash & cash equivalents are accounted for & balanced at the beginning & end of each work shift. Respond to & manage phone activity including providing general knowledge to callers. Provide administrative, reception & program support to management & staff. Smile & greet guests in a welcoming manner & use the guest?s name. Resolve guest complaints within scope of authority; otherwise refer the matter to the management. Register & assign rooms to guests. Maintain a professional appearance at all times. Requirements: Superior customer service skills Ability to multi-task Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment Strong attention to detail & organization Excellent computer skills & telephone etiquette Ability to work closely & cohesively with other departments to ensure optimum guest satisfaction Well-groomed Able to stand for long periods of time during shift(s) Previous experience preferred but not necessary
