Robert Half Payroll Manager- 100% remote in Chaska, Minnesota

Description We are seeking a Payroll Consultant for a 6-month project- 100% remote.

This role is responsible for accurate and timely processing of payroll for exempt and non-exempt employees utilizing automated payroll/time & attendance systems. Duties include processing of hours worked, calculations of special payments, wage garnishments, bonuses, stock options, restricted stock, car allowances, relocations, expatriate programs, gross up payments and running HR integration files. Audits payroll reports to ensure accuracy of data entry, in compliance with SOX 404 controls. Other responsibilities include providing support to external and internal audit staffs, resolving payroll tax issues, working with benefit reports, completing verifications of employment, working on special projects, corresponding with various tax authorities and partnering closely with HR to understand and implement new or modified compensation elements.

Key responsibilities: Timely processing of payroll to completion; data entry of payroll detail into payroll processing system, and reconciliation of payroll batches. Responsible for payroll management report requests. Review and audit payroll reports to ensure accuracy of paychecks, review quarterly tax filing reports, ensures the appropriate application of tax rates, and follow ups with tax authorities on payroll related matters. Ensures timely & accurate distribution of W2’s at Year End. Ensure accurate processing of special payments, restricted stock, stock options, wage garnishments, relocation, gross ups, and overtime hours. Partner with HR/and or employees in responding to any payroll related concern or inquiry. Ensure compliance with Sarbanes Oxley 404 with respect to internal controls. Provide support for internal and external audits related to payroll processes. Resolve payroll issues with a high level of urgency and focus on customer service Direct the work of our EBSC team. Requirements

5+ years experience as a Payroll Manager

  • Understanding of payroll-related cloud-based technology solutions

  • Certified Payroll Profession (CPP) certification urged

  • Strong communication skills and able to receive criticism well

  • Foundational knowledge in Canadian Payroll

  • ADP Workforce Now experience

  • Payroll for over 500 employees experience

  • Proficiency in Certified Payroll detail oriented (CPP)

  • Command of Multi-state Payroll

  • Knowledge of payroll applications

  • This position will be best filled by someone with strong interpersonal skills
