Job Title: Materials Handler Location(s): Chaska, MN Responsibilities: Performs the physical or administrative tasks involved in the shipping, receiving, storing, distributing and order fulfillment of merchandise, products, materials, parts, supplies and equipment Checks goods received and for distribution against purchase orders or invoices, maintains records of goods and rejects unsatisfactory items Packages and prepares products and merchandise for final shipment Lifts heavy items and may operate a forklift Prepares and maintains records of merchandise shipped Reviews customer orders, examines, stocks and distributes merchandise, products and materials in inventory warehouses, distribution centers or manufacturing lines Prepares the non-inventory items stored for each business unit (moving, labeling, and updating holding lists) Processes storage requests for special projects/shipments Warehouse storage management and space allocation Qualifications: Demonstrate mechanical aptitude including ability to use hand tools Applies general math skills including fractions, decimals, addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division Ability to speak distinctly and see and hear clearly Adhere to safety procedures consistent with the use of hand and power tools Basic computer skills Familiar with SAP inventory management a plus, TEL will train them on this software Forklift experience is preferred, but not required (will go through a certification through TEL) Physical Requirements: Job duties are often performed in confined areas, in awkward positions and/or in high places. Mechanical aptitude, manual dexterity and ability to lift/carry objects up to 35 pounds is required. May require bending/stooping/crawling/climbing. May require the use of Personal Protection equipment and proper industry safety procedures when working with one or more dangerous element or conditions such as chemicals, electric currents or high voltage, moving mechanical parts, radiation, etc. Day shift- Monday - Friday, 8 AM - 4:30 PM, flexible schedule for required overtime before 8 AM.
