Description

OVERVIEW

Cadrex is searching for a Machine Operator I to operate machines according to program and product specifications to produce small to medium sized components either as a finished product or as part of another larger product to be assembled.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Operates CNC machines to produce production parts and assemblies

  • Positions parts in specified locations using a variety of fastening devices

  • Operates hand-held tools, electrical tools, and/or pneumatic tools

  • Operates lift equipment as needed

  • Uses precision measuring tools as required

  • Verifies accuracy of completed product or batch inspections as required.

  • Reports defective materials, discrepancies, process malfunctions or completed products that are not in compliance with company and/or customer specifications to the Department Lead

  • Maintains the work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition and follows prescribed safety regulations

  • Completes all necessary paperwork as required, including in process or carbon copy production sheets

Requirements

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Demonstrated ability to operate a variety of hand tools, ability to understand mechanical processes, possess electronics knowledge, and possess a basic knowledge of hydraulics

  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals

  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance and/or repair instructions and manuals, and procedure manuals.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to work near moving mechanical parts and vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to the risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate and occasionally loud.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, sit, use hands and fingers, handle or feel, and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, color vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
