Job Information

University of Virginia Diagnostic Radiologic Tech 1 in Charlottesville, Virginia

Responsible for performing routine to complex diagnostic and therapeutic procedures in diagnostic radiology to ensure the production of quality images of all anatomical structures for interpretation by Radiologist. May be required to drive between sites.

  • Effectively operates and maintains required equipment necessary to produce radiographic images.

  • Adheres to established imaging protocols and ensures quality standards are met.

  • Follows established standards to ensure safe environment for patients, visitors and staff.

  • Gains understanding of the educational component of the organizational mission statement; seeks opportunities to grow and learn in accordance with department / organizational standards, policies, and protocols.

  • Understands concepts of clinical area ownership; demonstrates pride in appearance and recognizes importance of readiness of exam rooms, equipment and supplies.

  • In addition to the above job responsibilities, other duties may be assigned.

Position Compensation Range: $30.13 - $48.21 Hourly

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Education: Graduate of an accredited JRC program in Radiography required. Associate’s Degree in Radiography preferred. Students currently enrolled in accredited programs may proactively apply for open tech positions, but must have achieved certification prior to start planned start date.

Experience: No experience required

Licensure: Registered Radiologic Technologist through the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT R.T.) must be accomplished prior to planned start date. American Heart Association (AHA) Health Care Provider BLS certification required. Valid Virginia Driver’s License (VADL) may be required.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Job requires standing for prolonged periods, frequently bending/stooping and traveling, reaching (overhead, extensive, and repetitive); Repetitive motion: (computer keyboard). Proficient communicative, auditory and visual skills; Attention to detail and ability to write legibly; Ability to lift/push/pull 50 - 100lbs. May be exposed to chemicals, cold, dust, noise, radiation, blood/body fluids and infectious disease.
