Your Next Opportunity Awaits you!! Inpatient Oncology unit, includes adult acute-care plus intermediate care (IMU) Stem Cell Transplant Unit (SCTU). Joining the Inpatient Oncology team gives new nurses the opportunity to train in both levels of care and gain deep knowledge of the care for the oncology patient. The nurse to patient ratio for acute oncology is 1:4, while in SCTU it is 1:3 due to the higher level of care for both day shift and night shift. The unit also has a free-floating charge nurse on both shifts. Additional training opportunities for the Inpatient Oncology unit include (but aren’t limited to): oncology core curriculum classes to augment the Nurse Residency Program with oncology specific education, pre-paid online courses through the Oncology Nursing Society (including chemotherapy certification), shadow experiences in several ancillary services throughout hospital, and Stem Cell Transplant/Cellular Therapy training. Certified Nursing Assistants assist with caring for patients, including psychiatric and rehabilitative patients. They administer treatment and personal care procedures to patients including feeding, bathing, shaving, changing clothing, trimming fingernails, bed-making, and assisting with ambulation. They perform direct and indirect patient care activities according to established policies and procedures, observe and report changes in patient conditions, and maintain a safe and clean environment. Work is assigned at the task level and performed under direct supervision.
Measure and record vital signs, including height, weight, temperature, blood pressure, pulse, and respiration for each new patient on admission.
Document and report patient information clearly and concisely via electronic medical record.
Demonstrate a consistent level of performance irrespective of changes in workload.
Report observations regarding patient's welfare or condition to appropriate nurses and care providers.
Recognize emergency situations and report to appropriate staff.

Position Compensation Range: $15.00 - $20.34 Hourly
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Education: High school diploma
Experience: At least one year of experience as a CNA.
Licensure: Certified Nursing Aide certification and CPR certification.
