CACI is seeking a Mechanical / Materials UAS Analyst to perform and manage the production of various products in coordination with project and program leadership.

In this position you will research and exploit key data sources to assess technical capabilities of foreign UAS systems and loitering munitions.

You will also leverage and apply engineering expertise to developing weapon technology, combat environments, and tactics to develop assessments of intentions and capabilities, limitations, and vulnerabilities of military systems and technologies.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Integrate and analyze technical information on foreign weapons systems and technologies. This includes knowledge and expertise in advanced materials manufacturing, advanced energetic materials, and structure/property relationships as they pertain to weapon system design and implementation.

  • Determine technical omissions, discrepancies, and reliability of all-source material by applying known technical constraints on equipment operation or technology application, and extrapolating from established data on foreign equipment characteristics, foreign research and development (R&D) and production capabilities.

  • Conduct analysis of current and future system capabilities, limitations, and/or vulnerabilities resulting in the production of comprehensive all-source assessments. Utilize engineering analysis reports of assessed technical capabilities to populate and maintain databases on conventional weapons and systems.

  • Develop or support models and simulations to determine operational characteristics including potential terminal effects on targets.

  • Previous or current experience with UAS/UAV including, payloads and munitions found on and carried by UAS is preferred.

  • Background or understanding of UAS armor systems; materials, properties, etc.

  • Understanding of military intelligence – worked with military, systems, payloads, etc.

Minimum Education and Experience Required:

  • BA/BS degree in a related scientific field (Materials, Mechanical, Chemical, etc.)

  • 3+ years of experience as an Engineer on DoD related programs and projects.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Active in scope DoD TS/SCI security clearance. Must be willing to obtain a CI Polygraph

  • Ability to conduct analysis and produce comprehensive technical assessments that include independent research and technical writing.

  • Must possess the ability to work independently with minimal oversight while maintaining focus on research objectives defined by the client.
