Description

Robert Half has an opportunity for you to become a critical part of an innovative company, as a full-time Staff Accountant. You might thrive in this role if you are driven by a challenging work environment with many components. Candidates who can prepare journal entries, monthly and year-end closings, bank reconciliation, fixed asset maintenance, and general ledger reconciliation, will be preferred for this Staff Accountant position. In this role, you will perform internal reporting during the monthly close, participate in compliance, interact with our external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits, and review schedules reporting processes. This Charlotte, North Carolina area-based position is a challenging, multi-faceted opportunity to work for a company that recognizes and rewards hard work. If you're a detail-oriented and analytical thinker with a talent for creating Financial Statements, Cash Flow projections, and Budgets, this may be the role for you.

Your responsibilities

  • Perform month end close, journal entries, with minimum supervision

  • Prepare analyses for monthly balance sheets and income statements for management to report on

  • Prepare monthly financial close workbooks to support the month end, quarter end and year end closing process

  • Contribute to the implementation, maintenance and adherence to internal controls and accounting procedures ensuring compliance with GAAP

  • Take part in various department-wide initiatives

  • Periodic maintenance and reconciliation of journal entries

  • Arrange schedules for capital lease and monthly payments

  • Manage intercompany billings, transactions, and reconciliation

  • In-depth knowledge of reconciling month end balance sheet accounts

  • Manage reconciliation, depreciation, and fixed asset ledgers

  • Prepare journal entries and account reconciliations which include, but are not limited to, cash, prepaid expenses, and payroll

  • Upon request, take part in special projects and impromptu reporting

  • Survey and organize various financial data, reporting it in a useful and understandable manner

    Requirements - Ability to meet deadlines

  • BA/BS or equivalent in Accounting, Finance or Economics

  • Command of journal entries

  • Month end closings experience

  • Deep understanding of bank reconciliations

  • Strong organizational, written and verbal communication skills required

  • Skilled with ERP systems

  • Recent and relevant accounting experience

  • Competent with spreadsheets and databases

  • Working knowledge of spreadsheets and databases

  • Self-driven motivator who takes initiative on projects with a strong ability to understand and solve creative challenges

  • Attention to detail and demonstrated ability to follow standard procedures is a requirement

  • Notable analytical, quantitative and social skills

  • Ability to prioritize deals and adapt to quick changes while remaining diligent, and to thrive in a dynamic, high pressure environment
