Honeywell Sr Pension Analyst in Charlotte, North Carolina

We are looking for an experienced, data-driven Sr. Benefits Analyst to manage our defined benefit (DB) administration and oversight for the Honeywell Retirement plans, providing accurate reviews and outputs in compliance with plan rules, funding, legislative requirements, and internal practices in the U.S. and Puerto Rico. You will need to partner with our outsourced administrator on the processing of the most complex calculations for plans, analyzing data and interpreting plan rules to ensure the calculations are accurate. Will manage cases supporting the resolution of inquiries, escalations, errors, and requests from participants, such as hourly manufacturing workers, salaried workers, retired participants, and top Executive Officers. Leads a range of projects that have ahigh visibility and vary in scope and complexity for ongoing work operations, compliance, audits, and vendor management improvements. In this role, you are providing operational support to standard work, delivering standardized and self-service HR solutions, and driving digital transformation initiatives forward. You will have a significant impact on optimizing HR processes, enhancing employee experience, and driving HR's digital transformation journey, contributing to the success and effectiveness of Honeywell's overall operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide end to end execution of defined benefit pension processes, ensure up to date and accurate documentation, leverage historical databases to collect data, drive continuous improvement focusing on key initiatives of an excellent user experience ensuring right and fast support.

  • Manage suppliers to ensure quality administration of plans and the customer experience, payments, audit completion, execution of reporting and filings, with vendors such as, Conduent and Northern Trust. Participate in quarterly service reviews.

  • Stay up to date with regulatory changes in the industry and help us transition into the future as seamlessly as possible.

  • Apply legislation and regulations, including but not limited to IRS, DOL, and ERISA, when preparing, analyzing, and interpreting plan documents, summaries of plan provisions, and related plan materials.

  • Assists with audits and preparations of annual filings. Work with internal and external partners on compliance and other related matters. Participate in merger and acquisition activities to ensure compliance.

  • Identify operational errors and areas of weakness in plan operations, support audit reports and relevant supporting documentation to present findings and improvements to leadership. Assist with developing corrective action strategies.

  • Manage payroll reconciliations, escalations, leveraging multiple data sources, conducting data analysis, communicating findings, and making recommendations.

  • Proactively identify problems and trends, along with solutions, which might be leading to increased volume of escalations or issues.

  • Manage the claims and appeals process ensuring timely and accurate responses back to participants.

  • Maintain a robust data intelligence infrastructure, ensuring the accuracy, accessibility, and timely sharing of information among business professionals to support informed decision making and drive business success.

  • Collaborate in project planning, execution, and effective communication of information throughout the organization to drive successful project outcomes and facilitate seamless business operations.

  • Support year-end and mid-year non-discrimination testing as required by the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) to ensure compliance.

U.S. PERSON REQUIREMENTS

Due to compliance with U.S. export control laws and regulations, candidate must be a U.S. Person, which is defined as, a U.S. citizen, a U.S. permanent resident, or have protected status in the U.S. under asylum or refugee status.

YOU MUST HAVE:

  • Bachelor's Degree

  • Deep understanding and experience with ERISA, IRS, Retirement and DOL rules and regulations.

  • In-depth knowledge of IRS/Department of Labor regulatory requirements and retirement plan knowledge.

  • 5+ years direct experience and proficient knowledge with complex aspects of defined benefit retirement plan administration, fund benefits, compliance testing and plan audit support (completed retirement, termination, death calculations and experience with multi-employer pension plans).

  • Knowledge of Defined Benefit industry trends and the ability to apply this knowledge.

  • Prior actuarial analysis experience is a plus.

  • Strong mathematical, analytical, statistical, and reporting skills to review, interpret and evaluate financial data and legal documents.

  • Strong time management skills and the ability to meet deadlines with high accuracy.

  • Ability to understand how to analyze organizational risk with applicable US, state, and municipal laws and policies.

  • High attention to detail and a process improvement mindset.

  • Strong written and documentation skills, ability to communicate complex issues in a concise manner.

  • Ability to work independently and problem solve in ambiguous situations where answers and direction are not clear.

  • Case management experience with SalesForce.
