Data and Analytics Enablement team with The Hartford's Enterprise Data Office is seeking Senior Data Engineer primarily responsible for enabling various Cloud Data Integration services for the Enterprise.

As a Senior Data Engineer in this team, you will be leading the team to help enable the tools and services on Cloud and coordinate between various teams internally to provide technical guidance, consultative and community support for consumers of the service. The main focus of this role will enabling and supporting Data Integration platforms, primarily Talend, Informatica Cloud (IDMC), which will expand to include other next-generation services, with a focus on cloud and hybrid-cloud architectures.

This role will have a Hybrid work arrangement, with the expectation of working in an office location (Charlotte, NC) 3 days a week (Tuesday through Thursday).

Responsibilities:

  • Primarily supporting Data ingestion / integration platforms using Talend, IDMC and other data integration tools

  • Working with internal Hartford teams and Vendor Partners (Talend/IDMC) to deliver a robust, scalable architecture that meets the business goals of the Enterprise.

  • Developing automation for any manual and time-consuming admin related activities primarily aiming for self-service to reduce the current associated tool service SLAs Enabling, Setting up and Operationalizing IDMC platform in cloud, Developing automation for deployment, cluster management auto scale activities and container capabilities for IDMC jobs

  • Implementing CI/CD pipelines for the tool stack we support End-to-end accountability for Talend/IDMC Cloud environment stability, performance & availability Provide technical expertise, environmental issue debugging support and guidance to Delivery teams as required.

  • Establish best practices and knowledge sharing sessions as part of Tech COE activities Interfacing and Collaborating with peripheral tools and teams within Data and Analytics Enablement or Infrastructure teams to ensure smooth operation of services all times.

  • Participate in requirements gathering sessions with tool Service Owners and technical staff to distill technical requirements from business requests.

  • Recommend process improvements to increase efficiency and reliability in ETL development.

Qualification:

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in a quantitative/technical field (e.g. Computer Science, Statistics, Engineering) or equivalent related experience.

  • 7+ years of experience in ETL development experience with at least 2 years using ETL tools like Talend or IDMC, Data Quality, Data Catalog, Data Governance, B2B or other related tools for development or administration.

  • Experience on DevOps tools and practices for Continuous Integration and Deployments: GitHub, Jenkins, Nexus, Maven

  • Hands on knowledge working with Python, PySpark, or Terraform.

  • Experience with AWS Well-architected framework, designing, implementing, and supporting secure, scalable, resilient, and cost-effective data platforms.

  • Experience in big data ecosystem such as EKS/ECS containers, Spark and various data formats like XML, AVRO, JSON, Parquet etc.

  • Extensive experience in any of the programming languages such as Python/Java/Scala/Groovy Knowledge and experience of working on SQL Queries and Unix scripting Experience working on a Scrum team or other Agile delivery methodology.

  • Strong Knowledge of AWS Cloud Services such as EMR and AWS Storages etc

  • Excellent Troubleshooting Skills and performance tuning of ETL processes Knowledge or Knowledge or experience with cloud data warehouses such as Snowflake is a plus Experience with containers (Docker or Kubernetes) is a plus Any Cloud related certification is a plus.

Compensation

The listed annualized base pay range is primarily based on analysis of similar positions in the external market. Actual base pay could vary and may be above or below the listed range based on factors including but not limited to performance, proficiency and demonstration of competencies required for the role. The base pay is just one component of The Hartford’s total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include short-term or annual bonuses, long-term incentives, and on-the-spot recognition. The annualized base pay range for this role is:

$113,360 - $170,040
