Park Inc is a profitable, privately-held parking management company specializing in parking solutions including valet services, traffic control services, shuttle services, crossing guard services, and lot/garage management providing services to clients across the United States. Park Inc is conveniently headquartered in Charlotte's historic Lower South End district. Our employees enjoy a business casual dress code, free parking, and a friendly work environment.

Our Accounting Department functions as a small, co-operative team, where staff members can gain experience across a wide variety of accounts and business functions. We have an immediate opening for an experienced Senior Staff Accountant who will report directly to our Corporate Controller. The pay for this position ranges from $68,000 to 70,000 depending on experience. This position plays a key role in supporting the accounting function within the Company as well as ad-hoc support to the operations management team. The Senior Staff Accountant aids in a broad range of accounting areas. This team player is periodically asked to perform additional tasks outside of his/her routine responsibilities. As such, a flexible approach, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently are critical to success in this role.

Duties and Responsibilities:

The following duties are typical of this position. The list should not be construed as exclusive or all-inclusive. Other duties may be required and assigned. All duties are performed in accordance with established standards and procedures.

  • Creates and analyze liability, asset, and capital accounts for month-end closing

  • Summarizes and prepare financial status and transaction reports

  • Participates in the budgeting and forecasting process

  • Preparation of monthly customer invoices

  • Handles Accounts receivable collection activities

  • Summarization of time and attendance for weekly submission to outside payroll processing company

  • Preparation of monthly bank account reconciliations

  • Reviews and recommends modifications to accounting systems and procedures

  • Provides input into department’s goal setting process

  • Manages staff accountant and accounting assistant’s tasks and responsibilities

  • Assists with developing and documenting business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls

  • Provides value-added service to other departments and cross-functional management teams

  • Supports month-end and year-end close process

Qualifications

Required Knowledge & Abilities:

  • Strong Microsoft Office skills - Outlook, Word and Excel

  • Self-starter with the ability to work with minimal supervision and meet established deadlines

  • Determination to take ownership of projects and find constructive solutions

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills

  • Strong analytical skills / attention to detail / accuracy / organization

  • Trains and mentors junior staff

    Training & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or equivalent work experience.

  • Minimum of 5 years experience working in an Accounting Department with professional level responsibilities

  • Minimum of 5 years team leadership experience

  • Recent intermediate to advanced QuickBooks experience.

  • Proven ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously

  • Experience with Paycom payroll processing is a plus

  • Experience on systems analysis is a plus
