Job Description:

Position Summary

Network Capacity Engineer is responsible to perform capacity monitoring, analyzing, and projecting network capacity needs to meet the ever-changing demands for Data Center (external connectivity, internal connectivity, routers, switches, and SDWAN solutions). Deliver capacity and performance management solutions to operational teams and enable asset optimization and risk mitigation based on network resource usage. Practical knowledge of and experience with Network internals, performance monitoring and data collection tools. Ability to use tools to parse, merge, analyze, and present performance and capacity data. Very strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. Strong verbal presentation and written communications skills. Demonstrated ability to operate independently, set own priorities, and manage multiple concurrent work streams.

The role requires an analytical, high energy, and results driven individual to provide capacity planning, analysis, and performance management support for the Network infrastructure across all business sectors. Ideal candidate will be capable of multi-tasking on a variety of tasks and responsibilities. Familiarity with financial / brokerage business sector and understanding of key business and volume drivers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Execute and oversee capacity reporting strategies

  • Will create volume/project impact forecasts at the line of business level and convert those forecasts into future capacity acquisition targets

  • Contributes to compliance and/or audit reviews from internal and external resources

  • Other ad hoc responsibilities as required

Required Skills

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent working experience

  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience with Capacity Management in a large-scale environment

  • Must fully comprehend the tasks, responsibilities, and processes of capacity planning

  • Domain Expertise: Cisco and Arista solution

Must have experience with:

  • Instrumentation and Tooling

  • SevOne, NetScout, Splunk, TSCOU

  • Scripting

  • SNMP performance tools

  • Capacity Planning

  • SDWan architecture (Palo Alto Networks)

  • Cisco & Arista network architecture

  • Hardware

  • Software – LAN/WAN routing

  • Statistical values and Quantitative analysis

  • Python, Splunk, SQL

Desired Skills

  • Communicate effectively with other technical staff - including Project Management, other staff, and Application Development groups

  • Present analysis results in a clear and concise manner
