Summary

The Mobile Operations Training Specialist (MOTS) will provide training to all new hires in the Maintenance Specialist (MS) position on a variety of policies and procedures as well as Torque by Ryder technology to ensure a successful onboarding process. The MOTS will be required to travel to the new hire’s home market to deliver instruction and coaching. The MOTS will be required to be certified by Ryder’s technical training department. The MOTS will collaborate with technical trainers to revise and update procedures. Additionally, they will coordinate with Mobile Service Managers to reskill existing workforce.

Essential Functions

  • Trains and instructs new MS in the field on a variety of repairs and Torque by Ryder policies and procedures to ensure a successful onboarding process.

  • Familiarizes new hires with the market they will be working in, by teaching them how to prospect new customers, interact with current customers and demonstrate how to upsell in their home market.

  • Has a customer centric approach to selling in new hires market – Teach and coach new MS on upselling their services.

  • Improves training effectiveness, by collaborating with existing technical trainer to revise curriculum and update policy and procedures.

  • Stays knowledgeable and up to date on industry trends and changes and reskills existing workforce

  • Provides consistent feedback to MS manager’s regarding new hire trainings, concerns, and follow-ups

  • Demonstrates Torque by Ryder’s safety culture, expectations and standards

  • Inspect and ensure proper maintenance of all service, safety and environmental records required to meet and/or exceed corporate, federal, state, and local government mandated requirements by conducting quality inspections, signing off on new hire Z-Forms, and Certifying new MS

  • Ability to work in a regulated environment Pass a Ryder drug test and previous employer's for Pass a Ryder drug test and previous employers for the past 3 years, DOT physical, Ryder Road test, pass a Ryder Background check and Motor vehicle check including Drug and Alcohol verification from previous employers for the last 3 years., Required

  • Ability to work in a regulated environment Must be able to drive Ryder vehicles within HOS rules and regulations., Required

  • Ability to understand and adhere to Company policies in all areas., Required

  • Proven hands-on mechanic, customer service, and account management skills., Required

  • Detailed oriented with excellent follow-up practices, Required

  • Capable of multi-tasking, highly organized, with excellent time management skills, Required

  • Ability to work independently and as a member of a team, Required

  • Ability to create and maintain professional relationships within all levels of the organization (peers, work groups, customers, supervisors)., Required

Qualifications

  • H.S. Diploma/GED, Required

  • College degree/technical certification, Preferred

  • 4 years or more in technical experience, Required

  • 4 years or more in MSIV Skill Level, Required

  • Noncommercial driver license CLASS E Required

Travel

  • Yes, Greater than 60%
