Kurz Transfer Products Machine Operator in Charlotte, North Carolina

The LM70 Assistant Operator will assist the LM70 Operator during all production operations and continually progress to the proficiency level of an LM70 Operator. This team will maximize workflow and minimize down time while troubleshooting issues and improving the production process.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Assist in changeover clean-ups
  • Assist in roll changes
  • Shuttle coatings between mix room and coating room
  • Prepare cylinders and carts for the next production changeover
  • Assist in all phases of production and changeover
  • Assume total control of production for brief periods such as breaks
  • Maintain effective communication with Quality Control, mix room, and warehouse
  • Maintain a safe, clean and orderly production environment
  • Maintain all hazardous waste in the proper manner
  • Communicate production status with other Assistants and Operators
  • Complete all inventory stock movement transactions accurately
  • Perform basic preventive maintenance on production machine
  • Assist maintenance personnel with basic maintenance on the machine
  • Ensure a clean, safe and respectful work environment where all safety procedures and practices are properly followed
  • Other duties as assigned

Skills and Abilities

  • Ability to communicate effectively with all operators, helpers and team members
  • Ability to perform basic math accurately
  • Ability to distinguish color accurately
  • Ability to wear respirator as required, meeting OSHA requirements
  • Ability to static pull 84lbs
  • Ability to static push 60lbs
  • Ability to lift 50lbs from the floor
  • Ability to work without sitting for 8 hours
  • Ability to climb steps multiple times during shift
  • Ability to maintain focus for long periods of time
  • Basic computer skills
  • Continuous improvement mindset

Experience and Education

  • Previous manufacturing experience preferred
  • Microsoft Office, SAP experience a plus
