Crane 1 Services, Inc. Fabricator in Charlotte, North Carolina

Reports to: Production Supervisor

The Structural Steel Fabricator will be responsible for the fabrication of structural steel and overhead cranes in compliance with AWS (American Welding Society) standards. The successful candidate will possess the ability to read fabrication drawings, layout materials, and fabricate according to detailed specifications. Additionally, the candidate should demonstrate a willingness to adapt to a range of daily tasks and responsibilities, supporting various stages of the crane assembly process as required.

Position Roles & Responsibilities discussion

  • Fabrication of structural steel and overhead crane components in compliance with AWS standards.

  • Accurately interpret and work from fabrication drawings and specifications to layout and fabricate steel components.

  • Operate various fabrication equipment including cutting, bending, and welding tools to produce high-quality steel structures.

  • Ensure all work meets the highest quality standards and project specifications.

  • Paint structural components after completing fabrication.

  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment, adhering to all safety protocols and regulations.

Skills and Experience

  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting fabrication drawings.

  • Ability to operate overhead cranes and forklifts safely and effectively.

  • Proficient in the use of fabrication equipment such as saws, welders, grinders, and other hand tools.

  • Competent in problem-solving and logical reasoning to overcome assembly challenges.

  • Willingness to learn new skills and take on additional responsibilities as needed.

  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team, with a strong attention to detail.

Work Environment Considerations

  • Work in shop environments under various working conditions depending on assignment.

  • Overtime and weekend work occasionally required.

  • Some heavy lifting with the ability to lift up to 50lbs.

  • Comfortable working in various positions, including standing, kneeling, and bending for extended periods.
