Job Description

Primary Function:

The Electrical Engineer Student position is a summer internship to help develop student while providing a new perspective to existing practices. Student would work to help complete projects in the Electrical/Controls group. Some knowledge of electrical theory is required. The position would entail wiring, design, programming, and project management.

Principal Responsibilities:

  • Work with Electrical Engineering department on new or existing projects.

  • Good communication skills .

  • Determine specifications that each new design meets for catalog purposes.

  • Develop and monitor schedule and costs related to R&D projects.

  • Review customer specifications and develop products to meet their needs.

  • Work with Sales, Engineers and potential customers to determine optimal solutions for their applications.

  • Develop / maintain / modify drawings in support of our standard offerings and customer application.

  • Implement Engineering Standards and tools.

Qualifications

Required Skills:

  • A student in school for their BSEE or equivalent degree.

  • Work in Charlotte, NC.

  • Detailed oriented.

  • Knowledge of basic electricity and electrical theory.

  • Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings or willing to learn.

  • Ability to perform engineering calculations.

  • Strong teamwork, good written/verbal communications, and client relationship skills.

  • Self-Starter, ability to work in a dynamic, fast paced, team-oriented environment.

  • Passion for design and development.
