In this role, you will:
Wells Fargo is seeking a Control Lead Officer as part of the Corporate & Investment Banking (CIB) Control organization which serves as the front line of risk management and is accountable for assessing and effectively managing all associated risks for CIB. This team works to ensure internal controls, processes, and procedures are adequate and effective, and executive management understands the risks, exposures, and trends that impact the business. The group also collaborates on projects and initiatives by providing support and awareness of risks and mitigating control solutions.
This role will provide front line risk and control leadership, drive strategic projects and initiatives, and serve as an advisor to leadership within the Diverse Segments (DS) and Sustainable Finance & Advisory (SFA) businesses in CIB.
The Diverse Segments Team is focused on bringing the full range of CIB's investment banking and related services to businesses that have concentrations of diverse representation within ownership, senior leadership/governance, employees, and customers. This includes working across CIB to create greater and deeper access within the capital markets and its corresponding businesses.
The Sustainable Finance & Advisory Team delivers market-leading sustainability expertise, strategic M&A and IPO advisory, and bespoke capital solutions to support clients across the globe in executing on their sustainability focused strategic goals.
Specific responsibilities of this role include:
Provide Control Team leadership across DS and SFA owned processes, risks, and controls.
Coordinate the development and implementation of new products or modifications of existing products related to DS and SFA.
Develop strong working relationships and continuously engage in discussions with LOB partners on strategy, industry trends, organizational changes to determine impact and identify and remediate risk and control issues across all risk types.
Implement strategies to influence process owners, control owners, business sponsors, and key risk partners on the need for additional or improved controls to mitigate risk. Provide operational risk expertise and consulting for projects and platform initiatives, taking into account impacts to risk & control framework.
Play a leadership role in the Risk and Control Self-Assessment (RCSA) program as it relates to DS and SFA.
Lead issue management activities in partnership with members of the business and consult with process owners to develop corrective action plans and control redesign. Oversee implementation progress and conduct control evaluation efforts as required. Coordinate with business and support partners for the creation of Self-Disclosed issues in Issues Management system of record.
Required Qualifications:
- 5+ years of Risk Management or Control Management experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education.
Desired Qualifications:
Working knowledge of Corporate & Investment Banking businesses, its products and services, and relevant risks and controls of the business
Experience with Issue Management, root cause analysis, and corrective action development
Working knowledge of the Company's governance frameworks including Risk Management Framework concepts and policies across risk types
Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy used to identify, assess and confidently raise risks and issues, escalate early, and independently engage in constructive credible challenge
Highly professional, adaptable and proactive mindset with the ability to prioritize work, meet deadlines, achieve goals, and work under pressure in a fast paced and complex environment
Strong influencing skills with the ability to communicate effectively (verbal, written and interpersonal) with stakeholders at all levels of the organization
Self-starter with the ability to take initiative and work independently with minimal supervision in a structured environment.
Pay Range
$111,100.00 - $237,100.00
