The

Human Resource Specialist handles and provides support for various HR employee programs within the organization. Responsible for Human Resources functions including but not limited to; Interviewing and hiring certified nursing assistants and students for training program, attends job fairs, completes initial and annual background checks, completes workers comp tracking, recording and employee follow up, collects suggestion box items and weekly star awards, completes employment verifications, administers benefit enrollment processes including cobra notifications and inputs attendance occurrences in tracking system. Advises the Human Resource Manager of all issues as they relate to human resources concerns.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

Performs the following duties listed and others as required to improve the functions of the Human Resources Department. This list does not include all duties required but to serve as a basis of expectations. Duties and responsibilities may be added or modified at any time.

  • Interviews and hires certified nursing assistants
  • Interviews and hires students for c n a training program
  • Coordinates c n a class with outside agency and students
  • Prepares check requests for A/P invoices for HR department
  • Attends job fairs with nursing schools and c n a programs
  • Completes ICHAT and OIG checks annually and for initial hire as needed
  • Tracks and updates OSHA log with any recordable injuries, days missed or restricted duty
  • Completes and posts OSHA 300A log as per requirements
  • Prints reports from workers comp carrier and retains for reference
  • Collects suggestion box items and star awards weekly
  • Administers benefit enrollment processes
  • Completes credentialing process for volunteers
  • Completes employment verifications per facility policy
  • Completes COBRA notices per requirements
  • Inputs attendance occurrences into tracking program as needed
  • Enters corrective actions, education forms, PIP into HRIS and placing into files
  • Assists with maintenance of personnel files, recruitment, job postings, comprehensive screening of applicants including Criminal Background, OIG, reference checks, physicals and TB tests
  • Assist with new hire orientation as needed
  • Responsible for inputting internal job postings for all departments.
  • Assist with input into ATS for internal job postings for all departments
  • Responsible for privacy and confidentiality regarding employee information and HIPAA compliance.
  • Responsible for routine correspondence
  • Perform related work as required
