The JJV Global Data & AI team is looking for an outstanding data strategist who is interested in propelling the advancement of impactful and scalable data solutions through the design & enablement of data governance principles. This associate will act as a leading expert in the data governance field. They will be viewed as a valuable resource by peers across JNJ Vision and will lead large projects / processes of strategic importance to the organization's digital transformation journey. Initially an individual contributor role, this role will be instrumental for helping shape Vision’s overall data strategy tactics and will have the prospective to evolve into a formal managerial/leadership role.

The Principal will:

  • Develop and execute global data governance strategy with key objectives, outcomes, critical initiatives, and success metrics

  • Develop, execute, and maintain data governance roadmap aligned to global data governance strategy and annual strategic priorities

  • Lead, partner, and influence JNJ Vision analytic practitioners & key stakeholders supporting key data governance and data strategy initiatives intended to better enable the utilization and value of data across the global organization

  • Support the establishment of global and regional data governance councils with associated roles and responsibilities, scope and expectations, meeting agendas and council priorities

  • Design and develop Data Governance Metrics / KPIs that will help assess data operating model maturity & progress over time. Oversee broad socialization of KPIs and incorporate improvement tactics into data governance roadmap.

  • Oversee project spend that is allocated towards acceleration of data governance initiatives and manage respective vendor relations

  • Develop Risk Management systems that allow for global & company wide tracking of data risks/issues as well progress towards resolution

  • Partner with Supply Chain & R&D departments to sync and advance data governance towards a unified “One Company” approach

  • Provide oversight to the development, management, and enablement of data governance technologies, policies, and procedures

  • Make decisions regarding own work methods, sometimes in ambiguous situations, and requires minimal direction and receives guidance where needed

  • Perform other related tasks as assigned by management

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Master’s Degree 6 years’ experience, OR Bachelor’s Degree 8 years’ experience

  • Educational degree in relevant field, such as such as Computer Science, Information Management, or Business Administration

  • Demonstrated experience in developing and implementing data governance strategies, policies, and procedures.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.

  • Demonstrated commitment to staying updated on industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies in the field of data governance and management.

  • Experience in project management, including developing project plans, managing budgets, and risk/issue mitigation

  • Familiarity with data governance technologies and tools, including data cataloging, metadata management, data quality management, and data lineage.

  • Understanding of data architecture principles and data management best practices.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in Retail/Consumer/Marketing businesses

  • Experience in Vision Care/Medical Devices categories

  • Experience working in large matrixed organization, with Global footprint

  • Prior experience in Consulting Practices / Firms

Salary

For US based candidates, the base pay range for this position is $150,450 USD to $203,550 USD.

Bonus

The Company maintains highly competitive, performance-based compensation programs. Under current guidelines, this position is eligible for an annual performance bonus in accordance with the terms of the applicable plan. The annual performance bonus is a cash bonus intended to provide an incentive to achieve annual targeted results by rewarding individual and the corporation’s performance over a calendar/ performance year. Bonuses are awarded at the Company’s discretion on an individual basis.
