ManpowerGroup Technology Designer in Charleston, South Carolina

Our client, an industry leading Construction Design Engineering firm is seeking a Technology Designer to join their team. In this role, you'll be responsible for the design of complex technology systems including structured cabling, electronic security systems, intelligent building systems, and others. The ideal candidate will have at least 4 years of experience and a strong understanding of Revit.

What’s the Job?

Responsibilities

  • Lead the technology design from project inception through completion.

  • Mentor junior designers by providing guidance on the technical aspects of the design.

  • Coordinate and collaborate with our MEP teams, architectural clients, building owners, and construction managers.

  • Attend meetings with clients and other stakeholders, and consult on technology systems, to obtain project requirements.

  • Prepare 2 and 3-dimensional construction documents using Revit, and prepare Division 27 and 28 specifications

  • Remain current on emerging building technology systems through coordination with vendors and manufacturers, and attendance at conferences, seminars, etc.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Demonstrates proficiency with Revit.

  • Demonstrates a high-level understanding of building technology systems.

  • Knowledge and adherence to applicable codes and standards (NFPA, TIA, BICSI, IEEE) and familiarity of related standards (AVIXA, ASIS).

  • Ability to design and manage large, complex building technology systems.

  • Possess a solid technical base with desire to learn, lead, and grow into a leadership position within the firm.

  • Experience with Project management of various building types including healthcare, higher education, science and technology, workplace, and many others.

  • Ability to prioritize effectively, have good follow-through, and practice self-implemented quality control measures.

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, with the ability to communicate well in writing as well as verbally.

  • Interpersonal communication skills with clients and project stakeholders to collaborate on projects and achieve consensus.

  • Ability to travel as needed.

Education and Experience

  • RCDD preferred.

  • Three or more years’ experience in the architectural engineering industry designing and project managing large and complex building technology systems.
