Job Purpose

The Substance Use Prevention Coordinator under the supervision of the Director of the Office of Student Wellness and Well-being is responsible for developing, coordinating, and evaluating substance misuse prevention programs/initiatives for the College of Charleston student, staff and faculty community. The position will improve the existing substance misuse prevention offerings on the campus, assess their impact, and assist with campus reports related to alcohol and drug misuse.

Minimum Requirements

Bachelors degree in health promotion, health education, public health, social work, psychology or a related field from an accredited college or university. Experience: One (1) year of experience related to the duties described. Candidates with an equivalent combination of experience and/or education are encouraged to apply.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Must have excellent communication and time management skills, ability to work independently, establish relationships and function within a team.

Must be able to add to a welcoming and inclusive environment and interact with individuals from a variety of backgrounds with a helpful, caring attitude.
