Job Description

ESP (Electronic Stability Program) and IPB (Integrated Power Brake) manufacturing in Bosch Charleston has world class high speed assembly lines. These highly automated machines require continuous support from driven individuals that are able to learn varied technologies and provide assistance when necessary.

Our team of manufacturing process technicians act as the primary support for assembly and machining equipment. It is our job to make sure the equipment keeps running. This role will use various measuring, testing, and software tools to troubleshoot, modify, and repair mechanical linear systems, electrical linear systems, hydraulics, pneumatics, robots, presses, PLCs, cameras, scanners, etc..

Our team also makes use of different support software tools such as spreadsheets, reports, graphs, and OEM specified software to support production.

As a member of this team, you will be required to:

  • Directly support the assembly lines by troubleshooting components using various techniques.

  • Monitor equipment by logging in to the devices to observe functionality.

  • Performs periodic checks and takes preventive measures to assure the most effective equipment utilization.

  • Analyze equipment/machine problems, perform repairs, and implement corrective actions to ensure root cause is eliminated permanently.

  • Receive and provide proper turnovers to next shift personnel as required.

  • Participate and lead projects focused on OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness) improvement and machine stability.

  • Demonstrate self-initiative by generating new projects by suggesting improvements and managing workload.

  • Become a subject matter expert for certain topics (based on interest), develop training material, and train appropriate personnel.

  • Maintain a clean and orderly work area and perform miscellaneous duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Individual must be mechanically and electronically inclined. 3 to 5 years of manufacturing industry experience is highly recommended, but exceptionally driven individuals of other backgrounds will be considered.

  • Strong computer skills are required for this position as troubleshooting of equipment will mainly be done by logging into the devices and inspecting the device state. In addition, candidate must have basic to intermediate knowledge of:

  • MS Office Products

  • MS Excel functions (VLOOKUP, STDEV..)

  • Simple batch scripting in Windows

  • Networks (IP addresses, LANs)

  • Ability to work alternate shifts, cover weekends when necessary, and available to work overtime coverage when necessary.

  • Experience in manufacturing environment is a plus.

  • Experience with micro-controllers (Arduino, ESP32, Raspberry Pi) is a plus.

  • Mechatronics background is a plus.

  • Previous experience in self-managed technical team is a plus.
