Job Title: Range Operations Staff

Description:

Our collaborative cyber test and training teams define one-of-kind tailored solutions to the cyber warfighter and deliver results to increase the cyber resiliency of our nation’s weapon systems.

NCRC Charleston is seeking a Range Operations Staffer with flexible skillsets who enjoys learning new technologies to join its cyber range team. Range Operations Staffers are responsible for day-to-day configuration, maintenance, and upkeep of hardware and software systems. The Networking specialty will focus on networking concepts such as Layer 1 and Layer 3 networks, interconnectivity, and SAN operation.

Responsibilities include:

· Coordination with the various Event Staff members to schedule operations that do not intrude on other concurrent activities while meeting customer needs

· Follow security procedures to maintain backups, logs, and checklists that verify system operation and confirm compliance with classification requirements

· Regularly communicate range status, risks and recovery plans to management

· Manage the networking aspects of the system, including connectivity between classified systems, with extra care to ensure that wiring and networking changes are documented and in compliance with accreditation standards

Required Skills:

The candidate must have knowledge and/or direct experience in the following:

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college in a related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education

• S Clearance with eligibility for TS with SCI, TS Preferred

• Experience with hardware systems’ configuration and installation (e.g., chassis install, rack mounting, RAM replacement, BIOS battery handling)

• Working knowledge of hardware systems interconnectivity ports and protocols, including USB, ethernet cabling, fiber cabling, and similar systems

Desired Skills

• Cisco equipment certifications and/or experience, such as CCNA or CCNP

• Familiarity with personal and distributed storage systems such as SAN, RAID, and virtual datastores

• Oral and written communication experience

• Working knowledge of cyber concepts, penetration testing methods, vulnerabilities, information assurance, and security methodology

• Scripting experience
