Schedule: Monday-Friday; 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM

Job Summary :

Adheres to and carries out the policies, procedures, standards, and objectives of Roper St. Francis and the Non-Invasive Cardiology Department. Professionally performs non-invasive cardiac studies with good communication skills and technical knowledge. Oversees technical performance of those performing cardiovascular tests in areas outside of department. Teaches others basic skills of Cardiac Testing. Works closely with other departmental staff and with physicians.

Minimum Qualifications :

Education: High School Graduate or GED required. Successful completion of an EKG program or must successfully complete assigned EKG courses provided by RSFH Professional Development within a designated time frame from hire date.

Experience: None.

Licensure/Certification: Must have a current American Heart Association BLS for Healthcare Provider Card.

Knowledge/Skills: Knowledge of non-invasive cardiac theories, practices, equipment and procedures to provide quality care and exams for patients. Must be able to demonstrate the ability to perform and preliminarily interpret non-invasive cardiac tests including Stress Tests, Holter Scanning, Holter Monitors, Late Potentials, Event Monitors, and Electrocardiograms. Skilled in maintaining effective working relationships with patients, medical staff and co-workers. Must have the ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations. Skilled in preparing and maintaining records accurately. Ability to verbally communicate well. Ability to handle multiple tasks with frequent interruptions.

Ability to deal with board members, physicians, hospital staff, employees and visitors in a tactful and diplomatic manner. Will have frequent contact with employees, physicians, patients, family members.
