CHARLEMONT Lift Mechanic & Maintenance Worker Job Summary Berkshire East is seeking a part-time & full-time, year-round entry level Lift Mechanic to join our team. A love of the outdoors, strong mechanical skills and drive to learn are at the core of starting your Maintenance career. Mechanics will complete preventative maintenance, troubleshoot malfunctions and perform daily inspections and evaluations. The ideal candidate will enjoy working outdoors in all conditions, work well independently and in a team setting, be mechanically-minded, and work well under pressure. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Diagnose mechanical and electrical faults of ski lifts or other equipment. Repair and maintain resort equipment as needed. Operate heavy equipment such as bulldozer, backhoe, or excavator. Keep workshop in a clean and safe working environment. Organize and maintain shop tools and shop equipment in good repair. Maintain record of all service work performed on ski lifts & mountain coaster. Assist with resort construction projects as needed. Perform other tasks as assigned by manager, such as snowmaking, vehicle maintenance, lift operations and grooming. Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, Abilities) Skilled in providing outstanding customer service. Able to multitask in a fast-paced work environment. Equipment repair experience Core Competencies Friendly Service: Treat people courteously and respond in a helpful manner. Reliability: Consistently complete tasks meeting all job requirements on time. Maintain high standards in the quality & consistency of work. Physical Demands Must be physically fit and able to lift up to 75 lbs. Must be able to work independently with little to no supervision. Must be able to stand, bend, climb, lift, reach, push and pull repetitively. Must be mentally attentive and focused at all times. Must be comfortable climbing and working from towers, up 50 - 70 feet. Must be able to hike/ climb rugged, steep and slippery surfaces. Requirements Shift Requirements: Hours may be long, including early morning through early evening. Frequent weekend and holiday shifts. Age Requirements: must be 18 years of age Other Requirements: Applicants must have a valid driver\'s license to operate ATV\'s or vehicles.
