Description

Join a winning team!  SAIC’s National Security and Space (NSS) Sector is currently hiring to advance space capabilities supporting our Department of Defense (DOD) and Intelligence Community customers Ten miles from the SAIC headquarters, our Chantilly, VA team supports systems development, targeting & intelligence analysis, systems engineering & integration and more.

This position is for a Space Systems Ground Lead for a large, multi-year contract supporting a cutting-edge and innovative space program. The Ground Lead must possess, and have successfully demonstrated, technical space ground engineering competence, IT integration experience, excellent oral and written communication skills, problem-solving skills, analytical skills, and the interpersonal skills. The Ground Lead is the partner with the Govt leadership to effectively plan, organize and execute all acquisition and engineering activities across the system life cycle.

The Ground Lead provides leadership and support to the customers execution of mission critical systems with responsibilities that may include, but are not limited to the following:

Role Responsibilities:

  • Prioritize tasks across the team based on mission criticality and available resources

  • Tracking and reporting progress at multiple levels of Contractor and Government leadership

  • Providing expert-level space ground engineering analysis and recommendations to the blended SETA and Developer team responsible for developing and integrating existing capabilities to satisfy future missions

  • Representing Ground equities in system engineering processes including requirements management, configuration management, and risk management

  • Leading a team of direct SETA support staff to ensure a positive work environment

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Must possess an active TS/SCI clearance with Polygraph

  • Experience with the Intelligence Community and/or the Department of Defense architectures, spacecraft, and payloads

  • Bachelor's and 14 years of relevant experience; OR Master's and 12 years of relevant experience

  • Superb technical skills and experience related to space ground systems hardware and software. Focus on Command and Telemetry and Space Relay solutions

  • Ability to lead and be the primary point of contact for one or more projects

  • Effective interpersonal skills (across multiple groups, offices, and organizations) and strong briefing and writing skills

  • Ability to communicate very technical subjects to a diverse audience of senior decision makers with varying levels of technical expertise

  • Effective communication, coordination, and customer engagement skills

  • Ability to work in a fast paced, dynamic, and team environment with no supervision
