Position Summary:

KBR National Security Solutions (NSS) Capture Services professionals work in partnership with the operational team to qualify and capture new business opportunities supporting the development of winning proposal content that includes technical and management approaches, executive summaries, substantiation of claims (i.e. proof points) and other proposal artifacts. The ideal candidate brings existing customer and business relationships in the DOD and IC markets. This role will focus on building customer intimacy, identifying unmet customer needs in and around the DOD, IC, and related government organizations. The Sr. Manager, Capture Services will work as a “leader/doer” by leading and actively contributing to the qualification and capture of new and/or emerging business development opportunities. This position leads cross-Divisional collaboration, pipeline reporting, and synergy in meeting strategic business goals.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Duties and Responsibilities may include but are not limited to the following:

  • Manage and/or support two to four capture efforts in various stages for award within 18 months timeframe

  • Under broad direction, responsible for identifying market opportunities and leads capture activities to grow profitable revenue for the company

  • Participate in development of capture plans, strategy implementation, and overseeing and managing the business development budget and forecasts for defined task or capture

  • Has a very good understanding of contract terms and provisions

  • Maintain an accurate Salesforce pipeline for assigned organization

  • Develop the opportunity through diligent and timely influencing of customers and by leveraging current technologies, customer intimacies, and inter-company collaboration

  • Develop and maintain strong customer relationships to identify customer objectives, priorities, and requirements and align company capabilities as an innovative industry leader

  • Develop and maintain strong industry relations with large and small businesses with significant presence in assigned markets

  • Conduct competitive analysis

  • Develop and document effective win strategies

  • Develop and write RFI responses

  • Demonstrate solid business acumen in all capture pursuit decisions

  • Participate in the identification of potential acquisition targets

  • Develop capture artifacts such as (but not limited to): Win themes, proof points, past performance candidate identification, proposal resource requirement identification, B&P budget, capture snapshot and milestone reviews, etc)

    Basic Qualifications and Skills Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline from an accredited college or university

  • 15+ years of experience, 10+ years of industry experience

  • Capture management experience in a leading or supporting capacity is desired but not required

  • Strong understanding of DOD and IC markets with relevant organizational relationships

  • Exceptional written and oral communication skills with experience presenting at the executive levels

  • Proven ability to establish and use important customer relationships with senior level officials and program stakeholders

  • Proven ability to collaborate across organizational boundaries

  • Knowledge of Government contracting and current acquisition trends and customer buying behaviors

  • Knowledge of competitors and ability to model competitor behavior in the market

  • Proven experience working with geographically dispersed teams

    Preferred Qualifications and Skills Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a science or science related curriculum

  • Master’s degree in a science or science related curriculum

  • 10+ years’ experience supporting Intelligence community and/or space business development/capture/operations

    Security Clearance Requirements:

  • Active Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility
