The individual selected for this position will support the Customer's organization that provides video engineering services on a global scale. The Sponsor requires a single person to perform ongoing maintenance, configuration management, and operations for a Cisco based Unified Communications (UC) system. This includes integrating the system with other on-premises UC systems, troubleshooting issues, patching the various system components, monitoring for call quality, and ensuring availability of the overall system. In addition, the contactor will be interfacing with Engineers and Operations of other Sponsor owned systems. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Designing, configuring, and troubleshooting integration between the Cisco UC system and other existing Unified Communications systems.

  • Scheduling maintenance windows, and patching Cisco services, as well as VMware ESXi, and server firmware for all components of this system.

  • Maintaining a Linux server, which provides backups and logging support to the system.

  • Experience operating Cisco UC system components, including:

  • Cisco Unified Communications Manager (UCM)

  • Cisco Unified Border Element (UBE)

  • Cisco Expressway or Tandberg Video Communications Server (VCS)

  • Cisco Meeting Server (MS) or Acano Media Gateways

  • Cisco Prime Collaboration Provisioning (PCP)

  • Cisco Unified Computing System (UCS)

  • Cisco Jabber software client

  • Experience with operating VMware ESXi hypervisor servers

  • Understand Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) and H.323 communications protocols

  • Understand Transport Layer Security (TLS) protocols and certificates

  • BS 10-12, MS 8-10, PhD 5-7

  • Active TS/SCI w/poly

Desired:

  • Experience operating Trident V2CDS Cross Domain Solution servers

  • Experience with Red Hat Enterprise Linux or CentOS Linux

  • Knowledge of troubleshooting firewalls, specifically regarding SIP and H.323 protocols

  • Knowledge of other vendor UC systems, including, but not limited to, Avaya, Microsoft,

  • Oracle Acme Packet, Polycom
