KBR Antenna Engineer in Chantilly, Virginia

Title:

Antenna Engineer

KBR is seeking a highly qualified Antenna Engineer to provide support for the NRO Mission Operations Directorate (MOD). MOD o perates, maintains, and reports the status of intelligence satellites and their associated ground systems, provides defensive space control and space protection, monitors satellite flight safety, and provides space situational awareness. This effort includes support to innovation labs developing new tools, models, and algorithms to operate and exploit satellite space and ground systems.

Responsibilities:

  • Expertise and experience in performing research, antenna design, creating prototypes of designs,

  • Making development schedules, creating budget proposals for development projects, and supporting ground-based aperture projects.

  • Skills include expertise with antenna theory, antenna design, satellite modems, and antenna hardware components.

  • Tasks may include technical support for antenna hardware installation, alignment, modelling and configuration, calibration, monitoring and troubleshooting.

Required Qualifications:

  • 3-5 years of expertise and experience in performing antenna research and design

  • Ability to create prototypes of designs

  • Ability to develop schedules, create budget proposals for development projects

  • Provide ground-based aperture support

  • Have expertise within antenna theory, antenna design, satellite modems, and antenna hardware components.

  • Active TS/SCI with CI polygraph

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related quantitative science field

Desired Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in engineering or related quantitative science field

  • Experience leading teams resulting in successful verification and test strategies/solutions for complex programs

  • Experience with cloud development processes

  • Experience with industry system engineering practices

  • S trong interpersonal skills in order to influence, collaborate and work effectively with all levels of internal and external leadership.

  • Knowledge of NRO Mission Operations Directorate

    Basic Compensation: $109,560.00 - $164,340.00

    The offered rate will be based on the selected candidate’s knowledge, skills, abilities and/or experience and in consideration of internal parity.

    Additional Compensation:

    KBR may offer bonuses, commissions, or other forms of compensation to certain job titles or levels, per internal policy or contractual designation. Additional compensation may be in the form of sign on bonus, relocation benefits, short term incentives, long term incentives, or discretionary payments for exceptional performance.
