Overall Summary: IT Intern role will assist and split time between IT Support & Services and Information Security. Assisting those teams with tasks, projects, and day-to-day support items. This internship offers hands-on experience in both Help Desk/System Administration as well as Information Security, allowing for the developments of practical skills in troubleshooting, customer service, endpoint management, security, and Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC). A positive attitude, strong work ethic and willingness to learn are equally important as well as technical skills for this role. Primary Duties/Responsibilities: The intern will spend 75% of their time with IT Support & Services and 25% of their time with the Information Security Team. Complete assigned work orders within a specified service level agreement SLA. New PC setup and equipment builds. IT equipment relocation (office moves). IT Application setup and support. Perform IT support and troubleshooting. Assist with entitlement reviews and software inventory audits. Collect, analyze, and report on monthly security metrics. Assist in the creation, distribution, and monitoring of security awareness programs. Facilitate a summer project to help enhance one of the following IWCO security systems: Third Party Management, Security Incident and Event Management System (SIEM), Application Security, Identity and Access Management (IAM) or Governance, Risk and, Compliance (GRC) Assist Information Security team with daily responsibilities. Perform other duties as assigned. Required Skills/Abilities/Competencies: A high degree of competence with Windows 10 operating system. Proficiency in common software applications including Office 365, web browsers. Strong attention to detail and demonstrate ability to read and follow directions. Robust customer service skills required. Education and Experience: High School Diploma, GED or equivalent. Familiar with the operations of PC's and other gear, such as printers and monitors. Pursuing a formal IT degree. Physical Requirements: Ability to work 8 hours consecutively. Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer. Ability to lift PC and other IT equipment that may weigh up to 40 pounds. Ability to work in an office and production environment.
