Aston Carter Cost Accountant in Chanhassen, Minnesota

Job Title: Cost AccountantJob Description

As a Cost Accountant, you will be instrumental in maintaining standard costs and inventory valuation on both a daily and monthly basis through PPV analysis. Your role will involve developing and maintaining accurate Bill of Materials (BOM) for all products manufactured by the company. You will monitor and analyze material usage variances, identify discrepancies, and pinpoint opportunities for cost savings. Additionally, you will be responsible for analyzing and reporting on production costs including labor, materials, and overhead to identify areas for improvement. Regular cost audits will be conducted to ensure compliance with accounting standards and internal controls. You will also prepare and analyze cost reports, including variance analysis and cost projections, to support decision-making processes. Your responsibilities will include participating in the month-end close process, including journal entry, reconciliation, and reporting processes. Furthermore, you will be responsible for bill of material review, analysis, and modification suggestions, analyzing inventory quarterly, preparing reserve adjustments, monitoring cycle counts, inventory disposition, and reconciling and reviewing intercompany balances. You will also help maintain the internal control environment.
