45% - Provides professional-level end-to-end Academic Advising to an assigned caseload of students, to support student learning, persistence, and degree completion. Provides 1:1 and group academic advising sessions, on-boarding and retention strategies, and holistic student success support to students.Provides students with guidance on goal setting, decision making, degree and certificate options, transfer pathways, and course selection.Implements Guided Pathways framework to program advisement by acting as the primary liaison and academic advising lead for a Field of Interest or specialized cohort, connecting students with academic and personal resources like tutoring, counseling, and career services. Provides ongoing, proactive outreach and follow up to ensure student learning and progress outcomes are met.Tracks cohort data on student degree progress and completion and identifies at-risk students.

25% Manages overall Field of Interest cohort caseloads, including monitoring team performance and duties for quality assurance, training, and evaluation.When serving as a department lead, directs the daily activities of non-exempt staff and provides work direction to the team to meet department deadlines and program management.Problem-solves complex student concerns and provides technical assistance and troubleshooting to front-line staff if problem-escalation occurs.Tracks, analyzes, and evaluates program outcomes.Works collaboratively with academic divisions and other student affairs department leads as an academic advising content expert in the areas of career and educational planning, degree and curriculum requirements for graduation, and student retention and persistence strategies.

20% Assists with the development and delivery of training and professional development to the college community on topics related to student advising and retention. Develops, maintains, and delivers presentations or workshops, and reports program advising data and student retention for assigned cohorts.Coordinates, implements, and evaluates program advising processes and procedures.Makes recommendations for program improvements using evidence-based assessments and strategies.

10% Evaluates and interprets regulations, policies, & guidelines to determine and ensure compliance.Participates and collaborates on Field of Interest events and initiatives.Provides program management and coordination which may include operational planning or assessment. Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelors Degree from a regionally accredited institution and two (2) full-time equivalent years of student services or college teaching experience, or experience coordinating, administering, planning, or evaluating programs.

OR

Associates Degree from a regionally accredited institution and four (4) full-time equivalent years of student services or college teaching experience, or experience coordinating, administering, planning, or evaluating programs.

OR

High School Diploma or GED and six (6) full-time equivalent years of student services or college teaching experience, or experience coordinating, administering, planning, or evaluating programs.

  1. Master\'s Degree from a regionally accredited institution
  2. One (1) or more years of experience providing professional-level academic advisement in a college or university setting
  3. Experience applying specific academic or career advising approaches, theories, and competencies with students
  4. Effective written communications skills (as evidenced by application materials) & experience developing and delivering group presentations, trainings, or workshops
  5. Experience managing un ique cohorts of students and identifying student success strategies to support persistence, retention, and completion
  6. Experience using technology to track, compile, and update student data
