Insight Global Facilities Mechanical Engineer in Chandler, Arizona

Job Description

-Design HVAC systems including air handling units, air distribution systems, process exhaust primarily for cleanrooms and office areas.

-Direct CAD designers and support inter-discipline coordination in preparation of project designs.

-Partner with business unit customers and facilities operations to provide engineering solutions in support of their equipment and systems.

-Plan and prepare designs, specifications and estimates for projects compliant to local & international mechanical codes.

-Evaluate submittals, and contractor/manufacturer-furnished information.

Inspect specific construction and/or maintenance work to ensure adherence to design plans.

-Support system start-up, system optimization, and shut down functions. Analyze and determine root cause of factory outages due to system failures.

-Provide direction for restoration of operations in the event of system failures, breakdowns, or other emergency situations.

-Support operations personnel in establishing preventive maintenance and service programs, procedures, and record systems.

-Conduct FMEA review of HVAC systems, including, central plant system utilities.

Provide technical expertise to evaluate system efficiency & recommend energy efficient solutions for cost reduction efforts.

-Commission Mechanical systems such as air handling units, exhaust fans, pumps.

-Conduct HVAC infrastructure assessment for replacements or additions/expansions based on adequacy, capacity, convenience, reliability and safety of operations.

-Recommend appropriate actions which are cost effective and capable of future expansion.

-Support organizational goals.

-Complete all assignments within committed deadline.

-Ability to function effectively with peers inside and outside the organization.

-Actively demonstrate ownership of issues.

-Support management initiatives.

Skills and Requirements

-Excellent communication skills both oral and written; ability to interface directly with manufacturing teams and management.

-Demonstrated root cause problem solving skills with creative solutions, a penchant for systemic improvements and exceptional execution.

-Self-motivated; able to take initiative and effectively prioritize work based on the customer demands. -BS or MS degree in Mechanical Engineering

-2 to 5 years of experience working in a related design field.

-FE is preferred, willingness to get FE and move towards PE in next 5 years null
