The following are the duties of this position at the full working level. If this vacancy includes more than one grade and you are selected at a lower grade level, you will have the opportunity to learn to perform these duties and receive training to help you grow in this position.
- Responds to taxpayer's inquiries regarding preparation of a variety of tax returns, related schedules, and other documentation; resolves account inquiries; advises taxpayers of enforcement actions; manages sensitive case problems designated as requiring special case handling.
- Analyzes and resolves tax processing problems. Adjusts taxpayer accounts, prepares, and issues manual refunds, performs multiple credit transfers, computes tax, penalty, and interest (including restricted interest).
- Secures payment of delinquent taxes and filing of delinquent returns. Recommends lien and/or levy action, includes initiating supporting information for release.
- May serve as a technical advisor, OJT coach, classroom instructor, or reviewer, and provide technical assistance on systemic problems and inconsistencies in IRMs.

``` - Tour of Duty-TODs vary by location and will be assigned upon selection. Day Shift hours are between 6:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m., Mid Shift hours are between 10:00 a.m. and 10:00 p.m., and Swing Shift hours are between 2:00 p.m. and 2:00 a.m. We will try to offer the shift of your preference, but you may be offered an alternate shift upon selection. - Alternative work schedule, staggered work hours or telework may be available. - A recruitment incentive has been authorized foreligible, highly qualified applicants.The incentive will be $2,000 and will require a two-year service agreement. The service agreement details will be provided to new employees prior to entrance on duty. This monetary incentive will be disbursed as outlined in the service agreement. - Relocation expenses - No - Shift Work: This facility operates on a 24 hour per day, three-shift basis. Assignment to a specific shift cannot be guaranteed.
