Aston Carter Supply Chain Buyer in Chambersburg, Pennsylvania

Job Duties:

  • Manage project purchase orders, ensuring the timely delivery of materials

  • Assist with material expediting, proactively identifying potential delays, and mitigating the risk of materials not being available at the project's outset.

  • Research and reconcile variances between purchase orders and receiving.

  • Communicate with multiple internal departments, such as accounting, shipping/receiving, and production.

  • Develop and implement strategic sourcing strategies to optimize procurement processes

  • Conduct market research and analysis to identify potential suppliers and evaluate their capabilities

  • Negotiate contracts, terms, and pricing with supplies to ensure cost-effective procurement

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business needs and requirements

  • Manage supplier relationships and performance to ensure quality, delivery, and service level agreements are met

  • Monitor inventory levels and work closely with production planning to ensure timely availability of materials

  • Utilize MRP (Material Requirements Planning) systems to plan and track material requirements

  • Conduct root cause analysis for any supply chain disruptions or quality issues

  • Keep detailed records and prepare and submit necessary reports.

  • Identify opportunities for process improvement within the purchasing processes and implement best practices to streamline operations.

Skills & Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of buyer/purchasing experience within a manufacturing or similar industry

  • High School Diploma or GED

  • ERP systems experience

  • Excellent negotiation and communication skills

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet tight deadlines.

  • Attention to detail and ability to multitask effectively.
