Summary: As a member of the Martin's Family, the Deposit and Payment Posting Representative I's primary responsibility involves timely and accurate depositing and posting of customer, company route, wholesaler and all subsidiary company payments by performing the following:

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Deposit and Cash Posting:

  • Obtains bank information for electronic fund transfers ( ACH transactions and bank wires ) .

  • Researches and codes checks to appropriate customer, wholesaler or local route and all subsidiary companies.

  • Deposits, bar codes, scans and post checks to appropriate system.

  • Posts checks, cash, credit cards and ACH transactions to appropriate accounts.

  • Assists in interpreting and resolving posting discrepancies.

  • Reconciles payments posted against scanned payments and deposits, making adjustments or corrections as necessary .

  • Finalizes donation process .

  • Calls and e mails correspondence to customers to process donations.

  • Makes donation collection calls.

  • Coo rdinates with s ales team to ensure delivery.

  • Prepares credit card and ACH draft transactions via third party processor.

  • Maintains data integrity.

  • Maintains electronic files in accordance with standard file naming convention.

  • Manages high volume email account containing remittance and payment details.

  • Reconciles daily deposits to multiple accounts.

  • Ensures deposit and payment posting process is performed consistently .

  • Serves as backup for other AR positions .

    Education and/or Experience:

  • High School Diploma or GED;

  • Associate’s degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year College or technical school; or

  • Three to twelve months related experience and/or training in a general accounting environment ; or

  • Equivalent combination of education and experience.

    Language Skills:

    Ability to read and comprehend instructions, correspondence and memos. Ability to write correspondence. Ability to effectively present and communicate information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients and other employees of the organization.

    Mathematical Skills:

    Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

    Reasoning Ability:

    Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form. Ability to identify and solve problems using variables in standardized situations. Ability to multitask and navigate multiple systems.

    Computer Skills:

  • Knowledge of accounting software and Microsoft Excel software a plus.

  • Ability to type required.

  • Ability to operate 10-key calculator keypad required.

    Other Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks.

  • Self-motivated, ability to work independently .

  • Works well in team environment.

  • High attention to detail.

  • Organizational skills.
