Job Description:

We approach problems with creativity and innovation. Schnabel is seeking a Business Development Specialist to join our growing practice. The ideal candidate will be in the Boise, ID; Denver, CO; Seattle, WA; Albany, NY; or Chadds Ford, PA area.

The Business Development Specialist supports the BD Services team with development of qualifications materials, including proposals, Statements of Qualifications (SOQs), presentations and other materials necessary to secure new client and project opportunities. This position works closely with operations members of each business unit who are responsible for business development, strategy implementation, and client management. This position also works with the Creative Services team (design, graphics and communications) to ensure alignment with brand standards and firm wide messaging themes.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Developing proposals and SOQs for Request for Proposals (RFPs) from external or internal clients. This includes response production for technical proposals, SF 330 federal proposals, SOQs, and letters of interest. Experience with SF 330 federal submissions and requirements required.

  • May work directly with prime contractors and sub-consultants in preparation and submittal of proposal materials under the guidance/direction BD Services Manager.

  • Works within the framework/templates developed by Design Manager.

  • Maintains boilerplate materials, project lists, resumes and project profiles for use in proposal and qualifications submittals.

  • Maintains business development information in Deltek VantagePoint.

  • Supports other BD related tasks as needed.

Required Skills/Experience:

  • Ability to work effectively with BD and Creative Services teams as well as a wide variety of staff.

  • Technical proficiency in Adobe InDesign/Adobe Creative Suite and MS Office.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills. This position often communicates with technical professionals and teaming partners.

  • Strong understanding of database management. Deltek VantagePoint experience preferred.

  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail with ability to plan and manage multiple tasks.

  • Strong deadline management skills and, when necessary to meet deadlines, be willing to work extra time required to meet deadlines.

  • Bachelor’s degree in liberal arts, communications, or marketing.

  • Experience in proposal development required, preferably in the AEC industry.

  • Experience with SF 330 federal submissions and requirements, and federal procurement processes.

Other Requirements:

  • Ability to pass a background check which may include criminal history, motor vehicle record and credit check.

  • Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening.
