Job Description

As a Quality Inspector, you will be responsible for the inspection and testing of materials, parts, sub-assemblies, and finished products across industries including aerospace and medical. You will perform receiving inspections from outside vendors, mechanical inspections from first article to final inspection, and in-process and final mechanical and electrical inspections. Additionally, you will review, record, and maintain inspection results and traceability, handle non-conforming products and related documentation, and review Supplier Certificates of Conformance (CofC), First Article Inspections (FAIs), and Material Specifications for conformance.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect and test materials, parts, sub-assemblies, and finished products for aerospace and medical industries.

  • Conduct receiving inspections from outside vendors such as cable harness assemblies, electrical panels, PC board assemblies, and sensor assemblies.

  • Perform mechanical inspections from first article to final inspection using calipers, micrometers, and dial indicators.

  • Carry out in-process and final mechanical and electrical inspections.

  • Review, record, and maintain inspection results and traceability where required.

  • Handle non-conforming products and related documentation.

  • Maintain all inspection and production records and files.

  • Review Supplier CofC, FAIs, and Material Specifications for conformance.

  • Serialize and package parts as required by work order.

  • Access and assist with the maintenance of electronic inspection forms, reports, and historical data.

Essential Skills

  • 5-10 years' experience in inspection/QA role.

  • Ability to read blueprints.

  • Experience with first article to final inspection in a High Mix / Low Volume Production environment.

  • Intermediate computer skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience in high-speed rotating equipment and power conversion equipment.

  • Certified Quality Inspector (CQI) or equivalent certification or CMM Inspection preferred.

  • Familiarity with AS9100 / ISO 9001 and ANSI Y14.5.

  • Proficient in GD&T associated with tight tolerances and high complexity machined parts.

  • Experience using calipers, micrometers, height gauges, bench centers, and dial indicators.

  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.

  • Good written and verbal communication skills.

  • Ability to work independently and as a strong team player.

  • Experience working with Solidworks Inspection Project is a plus.

  • IPC-610 Certification preferred for electrical testing/inspection.
