nVent Lean/Quality Coordinator in Centralia, Illinois

WHAT YOU WILL EXPERIENCE IN THIS POSITION:

  • Lead and complete site-wide transformational plan from current to future state through lean manufacturing, and lean business process efforts. Work with the operations team to help identify, develop, realize and optimize lean improvements within the economic capability of the site.

  • Facilitate the Centralia site’s Lean Kaizen Events, including planning & scheduling future events, ensuring open communications and involvement of employees, coordination and updates of progress during event, and developing & maintaining a system to follow-up on open items from Kaizen events to ensure they are driven to completion.

  • Prioritize improvement opportunities based upon tactical planning objectives including safety, quality, delivery, cost and cash.

  • Use Lean techniques to perform process reviews and aid in establishing standardized work procedures.

  • Train others on Lean principles, including Standard Work, TPM, Value Stream Mapping, Ergonomics, SMED, 5-S, 2-P, and Kanban.

  • Drive campus toward improved waste elimination, in manufacturing and business processes.

  • Inspection of purchased material, in-process manufactured product and finished product.

  • Control of non-conforming material.

  • Control & calibration of inspection and test instruments.

  • Control of documentation of test and inspection reports.

  • Manufacturing process audits.

  • Root cause analysis of customer complaints.

  • Data collection & entry for quality analysis.

  • Aid in the implementation of quality system standards, responsible for the implementation and sustainment of ISO9001:2015.

  • Performs training with personnel to adhere to quality standards.

YOU HAVE:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent is required.

  • 3+ years of manufacturing/ lean experience preferred.

  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing concepts and practices.

  • Strong project management and leadership skills, including the demonstrated ability to lead multi-departmental project teams and resolve lean/ quality-related issues in a timely and effective manner.

  • Ability to establish relationships and influence all levels in the organization.

  • Lean Champion or Six-Sigma certification or willingness to obtain certification a plus.
