Administrative Assistant/ Receptionist

EAC Network, a not-for-profit social service agency that empowers, assists, and cares for over 62,888 people in need through 100 programs across Long Island and NYC, seeks a Administrative Assistant/ Receptionist to work full time for its Suffolk County Social and Community Justice services programs.

The Administrative Assistant/ Receptionist position is a non-exempt position paying $18-20 per hour at 35 hours per week. The hours of operation are Monday-Friday 9:00AM-5:00PM and the office is located in Central Islip, NY. The role reports to the Division Director.

Primary Purpose of Job:

The Administrative Assistant/Receptionist is responsible for providing reception, administrative and operational support.

Principal Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Answer, screen and direct phone calls, and perform receptionist functions and general office duties.

  • Order and maintain inventory of office supplies.

  • Generate Purchase Orders for programs.

  • Sort and distribute daily mail; deposit outgoing mail.

  • Conduct data entry as requested.

  • Maintain postage meter, copier, fax machine, and conference room calendars.

  • Maintain office equipment inventory and make service calls as needed.

  • Order and maintain records of all office needs.

  • Maintain calendar and schedule use of shared conference rooms.

    Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities Required:

  • Minimum of one year of prior office work experience required.

  • Must be proficient in office and computer applications or other automated systems such as spreadsheets, Microsoft Office applications, calendar program, and e-mail and/or database software skills necessary to perform job responsibilities.

  • General office skills required including a pleasant phone manner and good organizational and interpersonal skills.
