As a Senior Software Engineer in this organization, you will be involved in the development of state-of-the-art communications systems to support UAVs, fighter jets, aircraft carriers, and ground vehicles. We build robust networks that implement low latency and high throughput communications that include anti-jamming capabilities, mobile adhoc features and IP connectivity. This position will help develop innovative solutions that will keep our military members safe, connected, and informed. This position is located in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.

Primary Responsibilities:
Software development and integration role on complex multi-threaded embedded C and C++ product software code bases.
Support the design and development of embedded software solutions and communications products
Support project team activities related to the specification of requirements, software implementation, test case development, verification test execution, and certification support
Mentor software developers in technical and process-related areas
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree and 5 years of prior relevant experience OR
Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience OR
In absence of a degree, 9 years of relevant experience is required
Engineering/Other Technical Positions: Bachelor’s degree (typically in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM)) and a minimum of 8 years of prior relevant experience unless prohibited by local laws/regulations.
Must be a U.S. Citizen
Must have or be capable of obtaining a U.S. DoD Secret Clearance. U.S. Citizenship is required. Candidate selected will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements
Desire to successfully work in a team environment, establishing collaborative relationships with coworkers in person and through technology.
Preferred Skills:
Knowledge and\or experience in communications systems and multi-threaded embedded application software engineering development and integration
Experience with TDMA, mobile adhoc network (MANET), IP, and other networking and communication protocols
Experience working on an Agile team

The salary range for this role is 77,000 USD - 163,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
