Associate Director, MBA Program

 

• The Associate Director, MBA Programs is responsible for overseeing key operational aspects of the SUU MBA program and serving as a primary contact for SUU MBA students, along with the Graduate Academic Advisors.

• This position is a vital, student-centric role which manages programming and oversees advising and student support. The goal of the position is to support and enhance the entire MBA student experience.

Duties and Responsibilities:

 

• Oversee and manage the operations of the SUU MBA program from matriculation through graduation.

• Implement strategies to ensure that programs and services are completed in a timely manner.

• Support admissions, enrollment, and retention efforts.

• Oversee academic advising for MBA students.

• Utilize student feedback to determine plans to improve student success.

• Support and respond to MBA student issues and questions from pre-enrollment through graduation.

• Lead the planning and execution of MBA student events.

• Oversee MBA budget planning, while collaborating with the MBA Director, Dean's Office and other stakeholders.

• Supervise and direct the efforts of MBA team members.

• In accordance with Utah State Code 53B-1-110, appointment to this position is contingent upon the successful passing of a background check.

 

Education and Experience Requirements:

 

• Bachelor's Degree with 3-5 years of experience in higher education or equivalent combination.

• Ability to work independently and autonomously without direct supervision. Possess the ability to make sound judgment calls when necessary and relay information appropriately and consistently.

• Demonstrated experience working with a diverse array of stakeholders to craft and implement collaborative, high-quality academic, co-curricular, and extracurricular programing and events.

• Ability to connect with students of all backgrounds and experience levels.

• Proven ability to develop and maintain collaborative relationships with students and colleagues, both within the organization and in the wider community, and at every level of an institution's hierarchy.

• Demonstrated project management, organizational skills, and detail orientation. Must be able to balance significant complexity and competing demands in a fast-paced environment.

• Ability to exercise a high degree of discretion in dealing with confidential information in accordance with University policies and FERPA regulations.

• Strong public speaking, writing, and editing skills.

• Comfortable collecting and analyzing feedback and data to drive strategic planning and outcomes.

• A strong preference for an MBA degree.

If not an MBA degree, another master's degree in business, education, communication, or social sciences is also preferred.

• Experience working with adult students in higher education settings is preferred.

• Experience working with online students in higher education settings is preferred.

• Experience advising students on academic, professional, and personal goals is preferred.
