Kuehne+Nagel Global Service Center Sea Logistics Head in Cebu, Philippines

The purpose of this role is to head the Sea Logistics department in KN Global Services organization teams in Cebu. In line with the build-up plans the objective is to align with the Sea Logistics blueprint and to implement the strategy accordingly. The position requires excellent stakeholder management skills and a thorough understanding of Sea Freight.

Your Role

This role requires creative thinking, innovation and continuous improvements to meet and exceed customer and stakeholders expectations.

Your Responsibilities

  • Lead by example the Sea Logistics department be the role model for the team

  • Manage Sea Logistics P&L in line with the transfer price guidelines

  • Drive process standardization efforts in close cooperation with the GPO and Regions

  • Identify opportunities to improve quality, increase efficiencies and reduce cost

  • Follow corporate and regional workflows and procedures for employee training, service implementation and delivery

  • Responsible for successful transition of processes and tasks following the build-up plans

  • Assess and develop direct reports, identify high performers and outliers, and ensure robust succession plans are in place for the critical positions

  • Propose process improvements and work with the global and regional process owners to realize same

  • Responsible for adequate and timely training of all employees

  • Daily management of performance and monthly reporting of KPI's

  • Ensure timely, comprehensive and pro-active communication with employees, process owners and other key stake holders, peers and management at all levels

  • Ensure up to date documentation of all process work instructions and SOP and comply with all QSHE requirements

  • Drive closer alignment, and to the extent possible, integration with the regional Operational Teams

  • Identify potentials for automation and realize them - cooperate with the automation team

  • Share best practices with the peers for Sea Logistics in the other KN Global Services Centers

  • Promote diversity in the teams

  • Attend international meetings and work-shops (travel is approx. 10%)

Your Skills and Experiences

A seasoned professional with a minimum of 5 years in a managerial capacity, and a robust background in Sea Freight Forwarding, including Commercial Freight operations. The ideal candidate will have garnered international experience across multiple countries and experience overseeing large-scale operations with 200 or more personnel. Leadership for this position is demonstrated through exceptional communication skills, a strong customer-centric approach, and financial acumen. A candidate must be technologically adept, skilled in balancing the needs of various stakeholders, delegating tasks effectively, driving results to others and building networks.
