Job Title: Header Department/Shop Manager

Position Overview:

We are seeking an experienced and driven Header Department/Shop Manager to lead our operations. In this role, you will be responsible for determining work procedures, preparing work schedules, and expediting workflow within the Header department. You will oversee a team of 60 to 75 non-exempt employees, ensuring that all aspects of production align with our policies and procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Issue written and oral instructions to employees, assigning duties and examining work for precision and conformity.

  • Study and standardize procedures to enhance efficiency and maintain harmony among workers, addressing grievances as needed.

  • Collaborate with other managers to ensure coordination with production, inventory management, and quality assurance.

  • Implement Lean Manufacturing techniques and manage policy deployment in areas like safety, customer satisfaction, and performance measures.

  • Plan, schedule, and coordinate departmental activities to fulfill sales orders and meet inventory and delivery requirements.

  • Manage material requirements to improve inventory turns and reduce on-hand stock levels.

  • Lead problem resolution efforts and drive the implementation of capital investments and improvement projects.

  • Develop employee skills through coaching and counseling, conducting annual performance reviews, and providing ongoing feedback.

  • Conduct weekly safety meetings and monitor work quality in accordance with the company's Quality Plan.

  • Regularly review and update the New Generation Operation Schedule (NGOS) report to align with production needs and completion dates.

  • Responsible for managing the department's budget, including assembling and monitoring financial results.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED required; a Bachelor's degree in a related field is preferred.

  • Strong knowledge of manufacturing methods, techniques, and equipment; ability to read and interpret drawings and specifications.

  • Exceptional multitasking abilities and adaptability to changing situations.

  • Strong leadership skills to motivate and manage a diverse team.

  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.

  • Ability to work on-site and maintain punctuality.
