Edw C Levy Co Asphalt Plant Operator - Castle Rock Plant in Castle Rock, Colorado

Schmidt Construction, part of the Edw. C. Levy Group of Companies is seeking an Asphalt Plant Operator to work at our Castle Rock location in Castle Rock, CO. The Asphalt Plant Operator will operate plant and loader to produce hot mix asphalt.

Pay: $30-35 Shift/Schedule: 7am- 5pm occasional nights and weekends

Responsibilities The Asphalt Plant Operator will:

Promote Safety and follow all Safety and Environmental policies and procedures. Perform safety engagement reporting (Risk Assessments, Near Miss Reporting, etc.) Observe environmental factors to ensure that emission control devices operate properly. Control the heating, drying, and mixing of ingredients (such as asphalt, sand, stone, and specified additives) to produce quality asphalt paving materials. Enter information, monitor computer, and control panels, and provide accurate readings regarding the operation of machinery to ensure conformance to specifications. Adjusting equipment, such as screens and conveyors, to control or vary size of product, or to maintain uniform flow of materials within specification requirements. Asphalt Loadout: Discharge appropriate tonnage safely into correct customer trucks. Operate a loader to feed the asphalt plant and manage stockpiles. Examine machinery for safety & maintenance concerns, identify sources of all malfunctions. Ensure that bins and stockpiles are kept well stocked and prioritized correctly. Identify and resolve safety and mechanical malfunctions. Work with Plant Manager, to determine personnel and schedules to meet daily customer requirements. Work with Plant Manager and Plant Maintenance Manager to determine appropriate timing for maintenance/repairs. Document and record information. Other duties assigned by Plant Management. Skills The ideal candidate will have:

Ability to follow all Safety and Environmental Procedures. Knowledge of asphalt plant equipment, production process, and mix designs. Knowledge of materials and specification requirements. Knowledge of basic computer skills. Mechanical, welding and fabrication skills. Willing to have flexible work schedule depending on customer and company demands. Able to work as a team member. Strong communication, leadership skills. Experience to safely operate and maintain industrial equipment Ability to sit, stand, walk for extended periods of time and lift 50 lbs. Ability to work outdoors, tolerate multiple terrain and environmental variations
