Edw C Levy Co Asphalt Paver Operator - Castle Rock in Castle Rock, Colorado

Schmidt Construction, part of the Edw. C. Levy Group of Companies is seeking Asphalt Paver Operators to work at our Castle Rock, CO location. The Asphalt Paver Operator uses the paver to spread and level asphalt material on subgrade and related surfaces such as highways, roadways, parking lots, etc. Pay: $28-35 Shift: 7am-5pm with Nights and Weekends

Responsibilities The Asphalt Paver Operator will:

Adhere to all local, state, OSHA and environmental regulations as outlined in the Employee Safe Work Guidelines booklet, Safety Rules sign-off sheet and any/all information provided by the Company or customer Ensures asphalt mat is being laid properly Perform daily machine inspection and routine greasing, oiling, and fueling Communicate with office and field personnel Applies grade and elevations correctly Maintain cleanliness of equipment Assist maintenance personnel with repairs Record keeping Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor

Skills The ideal candidate will have:

Minimum 3-5 years mainline paving experience Ability to operate a paver Knowledge of materials Basic mechanical aptitude Ability to communicate well with co-workers, customers and other departments Good verbal and written communication skills. Valid driver license with excellent driving record CDL with Tanker & HazMat endorsements, or the ability to obtain one Lifts up to fifty (50) pounds Sits, stands, and walks for extended period of time Occasional pushing, pulling and/or prying Good visual acuity, depth perception and eye-hand coordination Climbing on, in to and out of equipment Able to detect differences between sounds that vary in pitch and loudness Works in environment with noise and temperature variations Operates motor vehicle
